🦃
Brine turkey one day in advance. 🦃
Preheat smoker to 250 to 275 degrees F (110 to 120 degrees C). We find that 275 is a solid temp to run
🦃
For your wood flavor we suggest a mix of Hickory and cherry or hickory and pecan. 🦃
Rinse turkey under cold water, and pat dry. Rub your favorite Code 3 Spices flavor profile (We suggest our Sea Dog Cajun, our NEW Top Gun Everything Blend or Rescue Rub) over the outside of the bird. Place in a disposable roasting pan. Fill turkey cavity with butter, cola (optional), apple, onion, garlic powder, salt, and ground black pepper. Or substitute Code 3 Spices Grunt Rub Garlic Blend.
🦃
Cover loosely with foil.
🦃
Smoke at 250 to 275 degrees until internal temperature reaches 180 degrees F (80 degrees C) when measured in the thickest part of the thigh. Baste the bird every 1 to 2 hours with the juices from the bottom of the roasting pan.
🦃
Let rest for approx 45 minutes to 1.5 hours in a cambro or cooler.
